St George’s Primary School in Qormi has been left in a “disastrous state” despite PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia’s parliamentary question sent to the Minister of Education Clifton Grima.

“Another scholastic year has started and yet, the school is still left in this horrible state,” a person told Lovin Malta upon sending a photo that shows the dishevelled state that one of the primary school’s rooms was left in.

Caruana Cilia said on social media that this has been an ongoing issue and has been brought up to the relevant ministries. However, despite numerous complaints nothing has seemingly been done.

“After Several people spoke to me, I submitted this Parliamentary Question (PQ) on 4th August to the Minister of Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation. Today, parents of students sent me this photo while insisting that the situation is still bad.”

He then wrote the exact PQ that was sent to the ministry.

“Many parents of students and educators have spoken to me about the bad state in which of St. George Primary School in Qormi. It has been a long time since works were said to start on the school, but so far it seems that nothing concrete has been done.”

“In a few more weeks the new school year will start again. Can the Minister give an explanation why the work on the primary school of St George in Qormi has not yet started? Can he give the details of the timeframes regarding the works and when the work on this school should actually finish?” his post read.

Lovin Malta has contacted Grima but is currently awaiting his response.
