Stabbed With A Hug But ‘The Worst Is Over’ For Hugo Chetcuti
The man who stabbed Hugo Chetcuti last night hugged the Paceville entrepreneur before digging the knife in his stomach, Lovin Malta is reliably informed.
Chetcuti was sampling food at Hugo’s Seafood and Cocktails – his latest business venture that will soon open in the building that used to house the old Nordic nightclub. At around 10:45pm, he stepped outside into the alley and was approached by a man – who police believe to be a 35-year-old Serbian.
Reliable sources told this website that the man hugged Chetcuti before stabbing him twice in the stomach and running away. He was later found near St James Hospital in Sliema, where police had to taser him before arresting him. The man will be prosecuted later this morning.

Chetcuti underwent major surgery and, while the situation remains delicate, medics believe the worst is over and that the Paceville entrepreneur could be woken up later on today.
Lovin Malta paid a visit to the scene of the crime this morning and the situation there was a calm one, with staff cleaning up from yesterday night and preparing for another day. No police officers were on site and no police cordons have been placed in the alley.
