Karl Stagno Navarra announced that he and other former PN employees plan to institute a class action lawsuit against the Nationalist Party over missing NI payments.
Although the PN told Lovin Malta that the issues flagged by Stagno Navarra have been resolved with the tax authorities, the journalist shed serious doubt on this statement.
“What a joke. How can they pay back millions in NI to its former workers while at the same time pay the NI of its current workers? Where will it get the money from? Elon Musk?”
Besides the class action suit, he said the group of former PN employees also plan to file a criminal complaint against three former PN secretary generals – Austin Gatt, Joe Saliba and Lawrence Gonzi.
“We are asking the police commissioner to change them in court – for the sake of justice, not vendetta- for the misappropriation and falsification of documents.”
Stagno Navarra, who worked with the PN between 1992 and 2004 before eventually switching allegiances to PL, went on to claim that there is a good reason the PN hasn’t filed its accounts in several years.
“They manipulated their accounts to the point that no further tampering can take place,” he claimed.
“This is why the PN’s accounts can never see the light of day. No auditor wants to sign their accounts and risk going to prison for their sake, and I understand them.”
