Standstill Traffic Along Kennedy Grove And St Paul’s Bay Due To Triq Is-Salina Road Closure

Standstill traffic is being reported this morning along Kennedy Grove, St Paul’s Bay, Burmarrad, and Coast Road, as a gridlock has formed in the area.

This comes as the Water Services Corporation started works along Triq is-Salina, closing the area from Salini Roundabout up to Triq il-Qadi, meaning there is no access towards Triq T’alla W Ommu.

The road closure commenced as of today, 8th May, and will remain in effect until 15th June.

Maltese Road Traffic Updates also put up a post warning drivers this morning, “Multiple reports of a gridlock near Salini and Kennedy Grove. Best to avoid or re-route – Road works”.

While diversion signs and traffic assistance were promised in the WSC’s announcement, badly positioned signs led to drivers having to drive until the Salini roundabout, before having to turn back towards Burmarrad.

Some drivers have even reported being stuck in traffic for over an hour, just to get from Xemxija to Burmarrad.
