Although politics tends to slow down in the summer months, Arnold Cassola is certainly not taking it easy.

Feeling a burst of momentum from his MEP campaign, Cassola is today launching ‘Vision Circles’, an initiative that will see people interested in setting up a strong third political force discuss and propose policies that could be part of its platform.

Cassola told Lovin Malta that he went from being a one man show to part of a team some three and a half years ago when four people joined his team. This team grew to 10-12 people at the start of the last MEP election and expanded further to 40 by the end of it.

After he wrote a post-election opinion piece calling for a new “centre-green-left” coalition, over 500 people reached out to him to express their interest. His team reached out to them to gauge their interest in actively contributing policy ideas and around 100 signed up.

Volunteers at Vision Circles will be split into six working groups, each discussing policies for a specific theme – such as accountability, the rule of law, the environment, and infrastructure.

“I think this is great,” Cassola said. “These people aren’t getting anything out this; they are simply coming to give their ideas on how they want a modern, beautiful and fair Malta.”
