“Please pray for my cousin Bjorn Piscopo. Continue to fight, we hope you get well soon, very fast. May God be with you,” said one family member after news of his accident broke.

“What a shock this morning, please pray for our friend,” said another.

“I’ve got no words – stay strong Bjorn!”

Piscopo, 25, was rushed to hospital and is still fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei Hospital. He was hospitalised after suffering an electric shock while doing maintenance work at a house in New Street, Paola, at around 1.30pm on Sunday.

A doctor who lives nearby to Piscopo was able to assist him and give him first aid until emergency medics arrived.
