‘Stop Making Out’: 9 Things You Shouldn’t Do While You Are At The Beach In Malta
Summer is (pretty much) here, and that means one thing: beach season is finally upon us.
Now, we don’t mean to be the killjoys over here, but there are certainly some unspoken and (kinda) obvious rules that every person should follow to make other’s – and your own – beach life super awesome.
As we do not have the luxury of having a private island, here is a list of nine things you should not do at the beach, making your fellow beach buddies life so much easier.
1. Stop throwing rubbish all over the place
OK, guys, make this a golden rule – do not throw rubbish while you are getting a tan.
People come to the beach to relax, not to have a ghastly look at your beer bottles, chips wrappers or other random stuff. And if you see someone doing that, step up.
2. Try not to cover everyone with sand when you are playing
As much as you love to play volleyball or frisbee on the beach, you need to keep it within a designated area.
Running around and then falling over someone is the last thing anyone wants to happen, even if you do score that goal.
3. Keep your cigarette butts to yourself
First of all – and you probably already know this – but you should just avoid smoking, like.
Being at the beach is all about enjoying the fresh air and the closeness of one with nature. You shouldn’t want to ruin it with your cigarette butts laying all over the place.
And for those who really can’t control that nicotine craving, take it to the parking lot and use trashcans or portable ashtrays.
4. ‘Get a room guys!’
We all know that the beach can be very serene and romantic – but you still really need to keep your hoses under control.
And seriously, stop making out in public. Yes, everybody loves a rebel but some things are better in private.
5. And don’t spray everyone else with your towel’s sand
“Everybody is covered in sand anyway, so what?” you may ask.
Sure – but shaking your towel and covering a sleeping stranger in your sand is one of the worst possible things you can do at the beach. If you do this, you should be banned from entering the water.
6. Do not ignore local customs
Beaches are everywhere – but they may belong to different cultures and have their own specific rules and unsaid regulations.
Not every beach will appreciate what you did last summer.
7. Stop filming people
Title says it all – do not ever record anyone without their permission, that’s just creepy.
8. And seriously, don’t feed the birds
We love animals and birds as much as the next media house, but a bird’s appetite is never ending and they will probably end up crashing your party by making it theirs.
Don’t fall for those cute little birds begging for food, they have plenty of it in the ocean.
9. Follow the warnings
Last but not least, follow the friggin’ warning signs!
They are there because they are important and you should be reading them. Stop ignoring them like we are ignoring global warming.
