Affordable Housing Project Moves Forward

The affordable housing initiative is moving ahead, with 11 tenderers submitting their offers to design and build 260 new apartments that will be sold at around 30% below market value.
The Foundation for Affordable Housing confirmed that seven private firms submitted a total of 11 proposals. An independent Evaluation Committee will now assess the submissions to ensure quality, sustainability, and affordability.
The project, first announced in July, will deliver a minimum of 260 apartments across four sites in Fgura, Marsascala, Kirkop, and Ta’ Ġiorni (St Julian’s). These sites were transferred to the Foundation by the Housing Authority with unanimous approval from both Government and Opposition in Parliament.
The apartments will be made available to individuals and couples on low to medium incomes.
The bidders include: Cast Renting Ltd, Vassallo Builders Ltd, A.M. Developments Ltd, Green Building Solutions Ltd, Bonnici Bros Services Ltd, Eclipse JV, and JAJ Contractors Ltd.
The Foundation for Affordable Housing is a joint initiative between the Government and the Archdiocese of Malta, aimed at providing sustainable housing solutions for working people.
