Maltese Athlete Caps Triathlon Season With Italian Podium Win
Maltese triathlete Graham Borg wrapped up his 2025 season in style, taking first place in his age category and finishing 14th overall out of more than 160 competitors at the final Olympic-distance race of the Italian Triathlon Federation series.
Borg dominated across all three disciplines. He kicked off the race with a powerful swim, immediately putting himself at the front.
On the bike, he kept the momentum going, averaging an impressive 41 km/h, and finished strong with a 10 km run, crossing the line in a season-best two hours and two minutes, a full eight minutes ahead of his nearest rival.
This victory comes just a week after he claimed third place in his age category at the sprint-distance race in San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily, proving he’s in top form as the season closes.
What makes it more impressing is that he only began competing in September, meaning he’s made a huge mark on the Italian triathlon scene in just two months of racing.
His rapid improvement and consistency have made him one to watch.
With 2025 now behind him, Borg is already turning his sights toward longer-distance events in 2026, ready to take his triathlon journey to the next level.
