Student Arrested After Stabbing Fellow Student At Pembroke School

A 14-year-old student has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another student with a knife outside Santa Clara Secondary School in Pembroke this morning.

Police spokesperson Brandon Pisani confirmed that both boys are 14 years old, of Libyan nationality, and have been living in Malta since they were three years old.

The incident happened at around 7.45am as students were entering the school. The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition.

The alleged aggressor was first questioned by the police at the school in the presence of his parents however he has been since arrested.

Police investigations are ongoing and Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is conducting an inquiry.
