A Sudanese construction worker has been left battling serious injuries after falling off from Ħaż-Żebbuġ site.

The man fell around a storey at around 11:45 am while working on construction site on Sqaq il-Qenċ in the locality.

Civil Protection, Ambulance Services, and Police were immediately on the site. The man has been taken to hospital.

Investigations are on-going.

The accident is one of the many that have taken place in the industry, with injuries and deaths becoming far too commonplace.

A reform of the construction industry has begun. However, the issue surrounding safety on construction sites is yet to be properly addressed by the government.
