‘Suffering Jesus’ Statue In Girgenti Severely Burnt Overnight
A statue showing a suffering Jesus Christ has been destroyed overnight.
A burnt cross and a small pile of debris is all that is left of sculptor Clive Busuttil’s artwork, installed in Girgenti in October 2016.
The page Madonna Tal Konsagrazzjoni Girgenti shared images of the vandalism, saying that the cross behind the statue was also severely damaged.
A police report was filed this morning at around 11am, with police investigations underway.
