A motorcyclist is fighting for his life following a late night crash that left him seriously injured.

Police were informed of an incident at around 12.30am in Triq Għar Dalam, Għaxaq, involving a 41-year-old man from Tarxien.

The motorcyclist had lost control of his bike – a Kymco – for some reason, consequently falling of it.

A medical team were called to the scene, taking the man to Mater Dei hospital, where he was confirmed to have serious injuries.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech has been informed of the case and opened an inquiry.

Police investigations are underway.
