Tarxien Youth Fighting For His Life After Serious Electric Shock In Fgura Garage

A 27-year-old man is fighting for his life after suffering a serious electric shock while working in a garage in Fgura.

Police were called to the residence at around 11:15am today in Triq San Tumas, Fgura. They were accompanied by a medical team, who took the man to Mater Dei by ambulance, where he was confirmed to have serious injuries.

The man, who lives in Tarxien, was reportedly working on a boat, when for some reason he received the burns, according to TVM. It was also reported that the cause may have been a short circuit.

Some off-duty workers from the Civil Protection Department who were in the vicinity assisted by providing First Aid and removing the battery from the boat.

Magitrate Joe Mifsud has opened an inquiry into the incident.
