Teen Arrested In Marsa After Attempting To Flee Police During Roadblock
A 19-year-old driver was arrested in Marsa yesterday afternoon after trying to evade police during a routine roadblock
The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa, when officers noticed a Range Rover bypassing traffic and changing direction after spotting their presence.
Police quickly intercepted the vehicle and signalled the driver to stop. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the teenager did not have a valid driver’s licence or insurance.
Additionally, he was found to be breaching court-imposed bail conditions and two minors aged 11 and 12 were also in the vehicle with the driver at the time.
The teen was arrested on the spot, and the vehicle was impounded as part of the investigation.
He is set to appear in court today at 10am before Magistrate Abigail Critien.
