A 13-year-old boy is currently fighting for his life after he was hit by a car in Santa Luċija earlier this morning.

This incident took place at 11.15am in Triq Katerina Vitale.

Initial investigations revealed the teen was hit by a Toyota Auris which was being driven by a 49-year-old Fgura resident.

The boy received medical assistance and was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
