Testimonies Pour In Against Maltese ‘Turnkey’ Contractor Whose Clients Claim He Robbed Them Of Thousands
Testimonies have been pouring in from scores of disgruntled clients and workers of turnkey contractor Kurt Galea Pace, ever since Lovin Malta published an article a month ago.
Galea Pace, it appears, has managed to cultivate a notorious figure in the industry, with scores of people describing a man who leaves a trail of debts and unfinished works yet seemingly escapes any wider punishment.
“I was conned by Kurt, as were a few of my friends, and still he continues to do it,” a former client explained.
An entire website detailing his misadventures even emerged in 2013 and has been regularly updated with comments from disgruntled clients, even up until 2019.
It’s easy to see how so many people were duped. Galea Pace has regularly been described as a fantastic salesman, who initially delivers with incredible results… only to leave people high-and-dry.
“He’s amazing up until you pay the deposit, he’s a sweet talker and totally sells his amazing service. Timelines. Achievements. The lot. Then I transferred the deposit to a foreign account (admittedly alarm bells should have rung) and bam! Everything goes wrong,” one person said.
“Endless promises and excuses and he never sends his workers as planned,” said another.

Galea Pace, it should be noted, has categorically denied any of the claims insisting that he has done all work his clients paid for and instead people owed him money.
However, a quick public search through court documents reveals Galea Pace’s long relationship with litigation.
Galea Pace, the son of former PN MP Victor Galea Pace and current Sliema Local Councillor Vivienne Galea Pace, first made the news in March 2018 after he was ordered to pay the owner of a Rabat villa €109,000 after failing to deliver failed the promised works on time.
He has since appealed the decision.

Some of the people left scorned by Galea Pace’s work have also attempted to take the issue up with authorities. However, they are often met with a brick wall by police officers who see little value in pursuing individual financial cases.
Those who have taken the issue to the civil court are often bogged down by an exhaustive process, while others who have filed cases with the Small Claims Tribunal turn up with Galea Pace merely failing to appear.
“Needless to say he is managing to evade being served,” one person explained.
