Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the death of Rita Camilleri in a mass shooting that took place in Canada over the weekend.
The shooting took place in Ontario, Canada, in an apartment complex where a dispute allegedly escalated between a man and the block’s administrative board – of which Camilleri was a member – where five people were eventually murdered.
The shooter, a 73-year-old man, opened fire in the apartment complex, taking the lives of Vittorio Panza, 79, Russel Manock, 75, Helen Manock, 71, Camilleri, 57, and Naveed Dada, 59, according to the BBC.
The shooter was eventually gunned down by police himself, leading to six deaths in total in this horrific incident.

Rita Camilleri
Camilleri was known for her love of cooking traditional Maltese food including, imqaret and figolli, and for staying in contact with the Maltese community.
On her social media, she can often be seen eating pastizzi among other recognisable Maltese items and food.
It is understood that she was also in a romantic relationship with Vittorio Panza, one of the other victims of the shooting.
Vaughan councillor Marilyn Iafrate told York Region News that she had been friends with Camilleri and Panza, calling them a “lovely couple”.
York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween said that Camilleri was a “smart businesswoman” who had a “contagious laugh” and a “zest for life”.
‘‘She was a loving daughter, sister, partner, and the most caring aunt,” he said adding that she “loved to cook and travel”.
