‘The New Way’: Power Cut Disrupts Santa Venera Feast Celebrations

A celebration in Santa Venera ahead of the village feast was disrupted by yet another unplanned power cut last night.

PN MP Darren Carabott uploaded a photo of himself and other people from the town lighting lighters outside the każin, seeing the funny side of the sad situation.

“The new way – a feast reception at the każin and the lights went out,” Carabott said.

Sannat’s feast celebrations were also disrupted by a power cut last night. Photographer Bradley Farrugia captured the moments the lights went out just as the statue of St Margaret was set to emerge from her niche.

Other areas of Malta to be hit by a power cut last night include Sliema, Gżira, Ħamrun, Marsa, and several other parts of Gozo.
