‘The People Of Gaza Must Be Free’: Culture Minister Links Santa Marija Convoy To Gaza

Culture Minister Owen Bonnici has marked the 83rd anniversary of the Santa Marija Convoy by reflecting on Malta’s own history of hardship and expressing solidarity with people facing similar struggles today.

“Today, we think of those who, like we once did, are suffering under blockade and shortages of food and medicine, particularly in Gaza,” Bonnici wrote on social media.

He drew parallels with current situations around the world, singling out Gaza, where residents face shortages of food and medicine due to Israel’s blockade.

“Our forefathers know more than everyone else that every human being deserves aid and dignity, even in the midst of conflict. The people of Gaza and all Palestine must be free,” Bonnici said.
