There Are 40 New COVID-19 Cases In Malta And 18 New Recoveries

Malta registered 40 new cases of COVID-19 along with 18 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases up to 699.
Today’s cases are still being investigated, however, yesterday’s cases include five cases which were family members, six cases which were direct contacts, nine were colleagues of previously-known cases, three from the Paceville cluster and two which were imported.
A total of 3030 swab tests were carried out over the past 24 hours. This is the largest amount of single-day testing performed and comes after the opening of the 6th swabbing centre in Burmarrad.
This puts the total amount of COVID-19 cases that Malta has seen since March at 1510.
