Thirty-three more migrants have been brought into Malta, the Armed Forces of Malta confirmed.

The migrants, were brought to Malta in the early hours of the morning after being found in Malta’s search-and-rescue region.

They boarded the AFM’s patrol boat P51 and were brought to Malta at 4.30am.

The migrants will be tested for COVID-19 and are being kept under quarantine in Isla as a precaution.

Malta rescued at least 94 other migrants earlier this week, with at least 65 of those rescued testing positive for COVID-19. The migrants were immediately kept in quarantine prior to their swab test, so the outbreak is likely to be maintainable.
