‘This Is A Witch Hunt’: Joseph Muscat On Vitals-Steward Saga
Joseph Muscat has warned that a “politically motivated witch hunt” is underway in light of the damning Court of Appeal verdict into the Vitals-Steward deal.
“The Court has stated that there was collusion involving unidentified officials,” Muscat said. “This conclusion is based, among other things, on different waivers authorized at the political level throughout the entire concession period, with the aim of finding a satisfactory solution.”
“To avoid any misinterpretation, it is important to note that I have consistently emphasized the need for a comprehensive and unbiased analysis into any potential misconduct, rather than the politically motivated witch hunts that are currently taking place.”
“I am committed to make sure the whole truth is known.”

It comes after his successor Robert Abela took a dig at the courts by suggesting that their decision-taking is conditioned by their desire to avoid criticism by the PN and Repubblika.
