This One Ominous Photo Taken Just Off The Southern Coast Of Malta Perfectly Sums Up Last Week

Dark clouds, heavy rain and spectacular lightning shows were the order of the day for the first week of October in Malta, and many people finally got to feel some freshness as the more autumnal weather rolled in.

With nearly every single day of the week seeing the islands experience rain and thunder, Maltese people had loads of opportunities to capture the perfect shot of the week-long bad weather. Be it an insanely-timed snap of a lightning bolt over the village skyline or a hilariously candid photo of people standing on bus stops, Maltese social media has been swarming with #Storm photos all of a sudden.

But if there’s one view that is perhaps even simpler but just as effective as all of that, it’s the one of dark clouds gathering over the Maltese islands that so many people were treated to over the last couple of days. And one particular photo sent in to Lovin Malta really helped capture the essence of the entirety of last week.

This photo, taken off the coast of southwest Malta on Thursday afternoon, is as much of a dramatic summary of the week as it gets.

After a couple of gloomy and wet days, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday seemed like it would bring back the sun and heat to the Maltese islands. However, by the afternoon, the bad weather had returned, and this photo taken in ?urrieq really managed to capture that moment.

With the tiny island of Filfla just off to the right of the photo and heavy rain just starting to fall again over the coast, there’s no better representation of the first week of October in Malta than this ominous AF photo.
