What could’ve been a way more serious incident thankfully ended with no injuries after three balconies collapsed on a busy road in Marsaskala last night.

Mayor Mario Calleja shared photos of the aftermath, urging people to try and avoid the long road which passes by the town’s picturesque seafront.

Calleja appeared on site and liaised with the police following the incident, which seemed to have started with the collapse of the uppermost balcony, bringing down debris on the two beneath.
