Weeks of investigation has led to the arrest of four Maltese nationals who are believed to have been operating within a drug trafficking ring out of a boathouse in San Tumas Bay, Marsaskala.

The vice squad, with the help of the Special Intervention unit, arrested the three men and one woman after receiving several reports of possible drug-trafficking in the area.

The officers would later discover heroin and cocaine in a raid on the boathouse late Tuesday afternoon.

Inquiring Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading the inquest and has appointed a number of experts.

The three men, who live in Bormla, Qormi, and Marsa will appear in court in the coming days.

Investigations are on-going.
