Three passengers were slightly injured in a bus accident on the coast road earlier today, heading towards Pembroke.

An ambulance was called to the scene but the passengers did not require hospitalisation.

“A vehicle operated by Malta Public Transport was involved in an incident in Bahar ic-Caghaq this morning. An emergency procedure was immediately activated and our response team are on site offering all possible assistance to the relevant authorities,” MTP said in a press statement.

Photos emerged on Facebook of the bus which appears in a terrible state after it ‘lost control’,  according to TVM.

It appears that the bus lost control, swerved off to the side and collided with the barrier.

The left side of the bus has been peeled off as a result of the incident exposing the vehicle’s interior. Glass also appears to be missing from the windows.

The front of the bus is also in bad shape, with a shattered screen and loose bumper.

Police investigations are ongoing.
