A three-year-old boy is at risk of dying after falling off the cliffs from Aħrax early this morning.

Police were called on site at around 3am after the three-year-old boy could not be located by his parents while they were at the Aħrax Camping Site in Mellieħa. 

Police immediately requested assistance from the Civil Protection Department and an ambulance was called on site.

The boy was located underneath the cliffs shortly after the search and rescue operation commenced. He was brought up by members from the CPD and transported to Mater Dei Hospital.

The boy was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries, and is currently fighting for his life.
