Beloved Italian Giftware Brand THUN Has Come To Valletta
Thun decor has been an integral part of Italian homes since 1950, and the brand has now landed on our shores. With over 1,000 shops spread across Italy and the rest of the world, this fast growing international franchise has added Valletta to its list of outlets.
A leader in the gifts and accessories industry, THUN Malta opened its doors in St. John’s Square corner with Zachary Street on the 8th of July. The store is a treasure trove stocking a wide range of ceramics, ornaments and kitchenware items, ideal for the home, gifts or souvenirs for you or your loved ones.
Creator Lene Thun founded the brand in 1950. Inspired by the angelic sight of her boys sleeping and the Angel of Bozen, who is somewhat known as the City of Bozen’s symbol, she created distinctive ceramic figures evoking the warmth and magic of childhood.
Their products are both functional and decorative, with an artisanal quality that symbolises love and affection. Joseph and Ray Buttigieg wanted to bring the feeling of joy that is imbued in the brand closer to home.
The brothers will channel into the franchise years of experience in one of the island’s longest-running and favourite family-run businesses, the popular Café Santa Lucia in Attard and its wider catering arm.
“We wanted to provide our clients with something more: special keepsakes that would help them hold onto dear moments a little while longer…In THUN, we have found a product whose message is akin to ours: a product that invoked feelings of warmth and tradition, class and elegance.”
THUN Malta will soon become your go-to shop for any type of house-warming gift, anniversary trinket, or present just because.
