‘Time For The Next Level’: PL Birkirkara Councillor To Contest Election As An Independent

PL Birkirkara councillor Kaylocke Buhagiar has announced he will contest the upcoming local council election as an independent candidate.
“Birkirkara needs a long-term vision that goes beyond the interests of political parties,” Buhagiar told Lovin Malta when asked about his decision.
“Since I was a young boy, I’ve worked and helped in different Birkirkara organisations that have strived to elevate our locality – from our band clubs, to festa organisers, sports organisation to cultural, heritage and environmental ones.”
“I believe that it’s time for Birkirkara to move to the next level – one of the biggest localities in Malta which has a lot of potential.”
“I spend a lot of time speaking to residents, small businesses in our locality and those involved in our locality organisations and we all believe that this is the moment to come together take Birkirkara to the next level.”
Buhagiar is currently serving his second term as a PL Birkirkara councillor and will continue representing the party until the next election this June, when he will contest as an independent candidate.
He said he has spent a lot of time speaking to residents, small businesses and people involved in locality organisations.
“We all believe that this is the moment to come together and take Birkirkara to the next level,” he said.
His public announcement was endorsed by Ħaż-Żebbuġ independent councillor Steve Zammit Lupi.
“I urge everyone who cares about Birkirkara to cast their first-preference vote to Kaylocke – a hardworking man who truly loves his hometown and understands what it needs,” he said.
