Tony Zarb, the former General Workers Union Secretary-General, has died.
The announcement was made by Zarb’s son Elton on social media.
Tributes have already begun flowing in for the trade unionist, who died aged 68.
“He was a pioneer working for socialism and the worker,” the Labour Party said.
“Tony Zarb’s values have always put the vulnerable and the worker first,” Prime Minister Robert Abela added.
