‘Total Arrogance’: Neville Gafà Tells PL Leadership To Stop Blaming Everyone But Themselves
PL activist Neville Gafà has heavily criticised the governing party’s reaction to its European Parliament election humbling, decrying it as “total arrogance”.
“After the PL suffered a haemorrhage of votes in the European Parliament election, it’s reaction was to blame everyone except themselves,” Gafà, a former person of trust of Joseph Muscat, wrote.
“It seems as thought they didn’t take the warning. Total arrogance. Their behaviour confirms that they intend to remain locked up in their ivory tower.”
“Rather than listening to the cries of thousands of people who, in the most transparent way possible, showed they aren’t pleased with the country’s leadership, they are trying to justify themselves by any means necessary. Everyone is wrong except for them. Stop being so arrogant.”
Gafà warned that 8th June 2024, when PL’s lead shrunk from around 35,000 to 8,000 votes, will go down in Maltese history as the date a political party suffered the greatest loss of votes
“You cannot be arrogant and blame PL voters for being ‘egoistical’. It is impossible that everyone is wrong except you. Stop rubbing salt in the the wounds, the message was loud and clear.”
“The PL has the necessary means to quickly realise what caused this electoral defeat. If one follows social media and reads what people are saying, you can make a precise analysis of what is bothering PL voters.”
“It is shame that when the people send such a strong message of judgement on those who should be protecting them midway through a legislature, the PL remains blind and doesn’t recognise the mistakes that took place in recent months. Shoulder political responsibility immediately.”
