Traffic Policeman Injured In Marsa Hit-And-Run With Gunshots Reported

A traffic policeman was injured during an incident near the Marsa Open Centre early this morning.

A police spokesperson told Lovin Malta that a policeman who wasn’t on duty at the time but who happened to be on-site had his motorcycle struck by a fleeing vehicle. Footage published by TVM shows that damage to the vehicle was extensive.

Police also said they were investigating gunshots that were heard in the area right before the incident.

TVM reported that the getaway car was stopped by police and the driver was arrested shortly after.
