Malta Public Transport ’Saddened By Tragic’ Death Of Woman In Birkirkara
Malta Public Transport has just extended its condolences to the family and friends of the woman that was run over in Birkirkara.
“A vehicle operated by Malta Public Transport was involved in a fatal accident today in Mrieħel. We are very saddened by this tragic accident,” a spokesperson for Malta Public Transport told Lovin Malta.
“The company is offering all the necessary assistance and support to the authorities to carry out their investigation, including CCTV footage of the incident,” it assured.
“Malta Public Transport extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.”
A 23-year-old Serbian woman died after being run over by a public bus in Triq Notabile in Birkirkara. The woman was unfortunately certified dead on site.
The bus was being driven by a Filipino national, aged 41.
A magisterial inquiry has been opened and a police investigation has been opened.
The woman is the 17th road death of the year.
