A 46-year-old man from Rabat was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred early this morning in Mosta.

The incident happened at around 2am in Triq iż-Żejfa, and involved a collision between a BMW motorcycle, driven by a Transport Malta official, and a Peugeot 206, driven by a 54-year-old man from Naxxar.

A medical team was called to the scene and provided assistance to the motorcyclist, who was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has launched an inquiry into the case, while police investigations are still underway.
