Tributes Pour In After Tallinja Driver Suddenly Dies In Bus This Morning
Hundreds of tributes are pouring in after the sudden death of a bus driver in Malta.
“We are very saddened by the news that our colleague Marvin Belmonte Briones passed away this morning,” bus operator Tallinja said in a statement.
It is understood that the bus was parked at the time of his death, and not while he was on duty.
“Marvin had been working as a bus driver with Malta Public Transport for almost four years, and will be missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”
Members of the Filipino and expat community as well as friends and colleagues took to social media to grieve and show their respects.
“It’s so sad! Because you want your family to be happy, you forgot to rest! RIP kabayan,” one person said, using a typical Filipino word to address fellow countrymen.
“A leaf fell from us today,” said another.
“What sad news to start the day with – may you rest in peace, colleague,” said a fellow worker.
