Truck Driver At Risk Of Dying After Crashing Into Tree And Wall In Paola

A 28-year-old truck driver is at risk of dying after crashing into a tree and a wall in Paola yesterday evening.

The police were informed of a traffic accident on Triq il-Palma around 7.30pm.

Initial reports revealed that the man, a resident of St Julian’s, was driving an Isuzu Elf truck, lost control and crashed into a tree and a wall of a house.

The driver received medical assistance on-site by a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department and was transported by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later certified to have sustained serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
