A five-year-old turtle will be starting a new adventure in the wild after undergoing an intensive eight-month recovery period.

Rescued late last year, the turtle was picked up by volunteers of Nature Trust after it was found having difficulties breathing.

Months of treatment in a specialised facility later, the turtle is now ready to start over and brave the open seas once more. Today at 10:00am it swam off into the cool waters of Ħondoq in Gozo.
