Two young individuals were arrested by the police shortly after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Ħamrun.

The incident occurred last Sunday evening at around 11.20pm. While police officers were on patrol on Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp, Santa Venera, they noticed a suspicious Volkswagen Polo car with two individuals inside.

Consequently, they stopped the vehicle, and it was revealed that the driver did not possess a valid driving license.

Further investigations revealed that the same vehicle had been stolen shortly before from Triq Brighella in Ħamrun.

The two individuals, whose identities have not been revealed, were arrested and taken to the police lock-up in Floriana for further questioning.

They are expected to appear before the Court in front of Magistrate Nadine Lia at 11am today.
