Two Italian men were arrested by the police earlier today after allegedly stealing a vehicle from Wied il-Għajn.

At 10pm, a report was made at the Wied il-Għajn police station, stating that two unknown individuals stole a Toyota Dyna van from Triq ix-Xnejn Abjad.

A few moments after the report, during a police patrol, the van was seen on Triq San Anard, Ħal Tarxien, and was stopped.

The two individuals in the van were immediately arrested and identified as a 24-year-old Italian living in Xgħajra and a 52-year-old Italian resident of Wied il-Għajn.

The two men are detained at the Floriana lock-up and are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
