Two Men Arrested For Smuggling Dead Birds Into Malta To Be Stuffed
Police arrested two Maltese men on suspicion of smuggling protected bird carcasses to Malta and stuffing them.
The men, a 42-year-old Żurrieq resident and a 57-year-old Gudja resident, were arrested after weeks of investigation.
Police searched their homes and seized seven guns as well as 2,500 embalmed birds and 140 frozen bird carcasses, as well as the frozen carcass of an African Genet.
