Two people were killed within minutes of each other in separate traffic accidents on Malta’s roads this afternoon.

At around 2:25pm, Daryl Aloisio, 36, sustained serious chest injuries after he crashed his motorbike into a crash barrier on the Coast Road. He was rushed to Mater Dei but succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards.

At around the same time, Jessica Micallef, 22, was fatally run over by a moving vehicle she had just jumped out of in Triq Binġemma, Imġarr. The car was being driven by a 24-year-old man from Ħaż-Żabbar who, according to multiple reports, was the victim’s boyfriend.

The two accidents come a day after Giulio Baldacchino, 44, died after crashing his motorcycle into a crash barrier on the Coast Road.
