Ukrainians Raise Billboard Thanking Roberta Metsola For Never Leaving Their Side
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola took to social media to candidly share her emotions after a “Hero City” in Ukraine raised a billboard dedicated to her dogged support of the nation in the face of Russian aggression.
“I got emotional seeing this billboard put up in Irpin, Ukraine, that witnessed such horror, whose people inspired the world. Thank you, Irpin,” Metsola said, sharing an image of the billboard.
The billboard features a shot of a smiling but strong Metsola with the caption: “The world of brave people #ThanksForTheSupport”.
Metsola has made it a point to consistently support Ukraine as it continues to face an invasion into its homeland – and she took the opportunity to reiterate her, and the European Parliament’s, support to the people of the war-torn nation.
“The European Parliament will not leave your side. We will not stop fighting for justice and accountability for what you endured under Russian occupation.”
