Update: Young Tourist Died After Falling Six Storeys, Said To Have Arrived In Malta Yesterday

Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the conditions that led to the tragic death of a 25-year-old British tourist in Malta in the early hours of this morning.

Police were alerted to an emergency on Triq Spinola, St Julians and what they found on site was harrowing. A 25-year-old British tourist had just fallen from the balcony of a hotel room on the sixth floor, Net News reported.

A medical team and ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene, but tragically, the young man was certified dead on site.

The road was closed off to allow police to gather all necessary evidence.

According to Net News, the body showed visible head injuries which indicated that the young man likely died on impact. According to their sources, he had only arrived in Malta yesterday with a group of friends.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed of the case and appointed several experts to assist in the inquiry. Police investigations are still ongoing, with the support of the St Julian’s district team.

In the coming hours, an autopsy is expected to be carried out on the body. The man’s relatives have also been contacted.
