Valletta Crib Has Gaza War Message: ‘Christmas Birthplace Has Become A Cemetery’
Photos from the Gaza war have been added to this year’s Valletta Christmas Crib, intended to make passers-by stop and reflect about what is happening on the other side of the Mediterranean.
“Hundreds of children are being killed and thousands of innocent families torn apart in our neighbour and friend Palestine, particularly the Gaza Strip,” Valletta Cultural Agency chairman Jason Micallef said.
“We want everyone who passes by or stops in front of our Crib near the St John’s Co-Cathedral to stop for a moment and reflect. This isn’t a normal Christmas. The place where Christmas was born has become a cemetery of innocents.”
