‘A Pillar Of Malta’s Animal Community’: Tributes Pour In For Dog Volunteer Vincent Ciantar
Tributes are pouring in for local animal volunteer Vincent Ciantar, who recently died at the age of 45 years old.
Ciantar was described to have been a “pillar of the animal-loving community” in Malta, who worked tirelessly for abandoned dogs.
“This morning we are saddened by the loss of a great but quiet man who worked relentlessly and consistently to better the lives of so many abandoned dogs in the care of Animal Welfare Malta,” the Office for the Commissioner of Animal Welfare said in a statement.
“Ciantar was an exemplary pillar of the animal-loving community; a volunteer who provided much-needed support, in silence.”
“Vince had insight and strength which brought peaceful calmness wherever he went. He left this world yesterday and will be missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family, children, friends and everyone who knew him,” it continued.
Animal Minister Anton Refalo also extended his condolences, explaining how Ciantar was very active in voluntary work for Animal Welfare.
“During the last three years, Ciantar was always there with other volunteers at Għemmieri to help workers at the Animal Welfare Directorate. I extend my condolences to his family and close friends and thank Ciantar for his work,” Refalo said.
Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Animal Welfare Alicia Bugeja Said similarly noted Ciantar’s love for the animals, recounting how she used to see him walking dogs every morning.
Rest in Peace Vincent
