Violent Fight In Żejtun Leaves One Seriously Injured

An intense argument broke out earlier today on Triq il-Ġiebja Rumana in Żejtun, leading to a violent confrontation involving several individuals, the Malta Police Force has reported.

Preliminary investigations revealed that an 18-year-old youth from Żejtun, a 48-year-old man from Bormla, and a 54-year-old man also from Żejtun were involved in a heated exchange with another youth and a 24-year-old woman, both residents of Żejtun.

The altercation reportedly escalated, involving the use of stones and resulting in a collision between an Opel Astra, driven by the 48-year-old man, and a Mercedes Benz E250, driven by the 24-year-old male. Amidst the chaos, the 54-year-old man was allegedly hit by the Mercedes.

Emergency medical teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. All involved parties were transported to Mater Dei Hospital for necessary medical attention. The 54-year-old man was later certified with severe injuries, while the condition of the other individuals remains pending.

Magistrate Dr. Rachel Montebello LL.D has been informed of the case and has instigated an inquiry. The Malta Police Force continues their investigation to unravel the full extent of the incident and to determine the sequence of events that led to such a violent outcome.
