Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his family have made a holiday out of a trip to Australia to attend the Commonwealth Games, and they certainly seem to be enjoying their time down under.
Besides watching the Games, Joseph Muscat met up with Maltese-Australian chef Shane Delia at his popular Maha Restaurant in Melbourne. Delia tweeted his excitement at getting to cook for the Maltese Prime Minister and said he plans to open up a branch of his Middle Eastern style restaurant in Malta in the future.
It’s not every day I get to cook for the Maltese prime minister on Easter Sunday ????
The Prime Minister also met up with his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull, as well as with former All Blacks rugby star Brad Thorn, whose wife is of Maltese descent.

He then went to Mount Tamborine, where he visited the famous Curtis Falls and was pleasantly surprised to find an ice-cream parlour selling bajtra tax-xewk ice cream (with the Maltese spelling and all).
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s wife Michelle published an Instagram post of herself and her twins Soleil and Etoile posing delightfully near a wallaby – who did not exactly look too thrilled by the occasion.
The Maltese delegation to the Commonwealth Games is also composed of Foreign Minister Carmelo Abela and parliamentary secretary for sport Clifton Grima.
