Ever wanted to change something crucial about how Malta’s democracy works? Maybe you don’t like the way Parliament is elected or the way Ministers are chosen. Or you feel the Courts should be set up differently.

Well, now could be your chance to suggest some changes. The President of Malta has unveiled a website to help Constitutional reform and it gives you the chance to make your recommendations.

The website, which the President mentioned during his interview with Lovin Malta last week, provides some of information about the Maltese Constitution, including an abridged version for easier consumption.

So if you have any bright ideas about how our electoral process should change, how our President should be appointed, how our institutions should work or any other rights or responsibilities that should be included in the supreme law of the land, go have your say.

Sadly, the website does not accept any anonymous submissions so keep in mind you’re going to be handing over your personal data if you’re going to share your ideas. But perhaps that’s a small price to pay if your contribution goes on to change the course of Malta’s democratic process.

According to President George Vella, the contributions will be assessed by a specific team to see whether there’s enough material to warrant a Constitutional Assembly.
