Watch: Abela Showered With Fake Cheques As Protesters Meet Prime Minister After Heated Parliament Session
Prime Minister Robert Abela walked through a shower of fake cheques as he walked through a sea of protestors following a heated Parliament sitting this evening in Valletta.
Waking through a shower of leaflets embroidered with the bright red phrase “Ħallas Ġaħan” alongside cheques for €400 million made out to Vitals-Steward Healthcare.
Abela faced questions and calls as he walked towards a gaggle of press outside Castille as hundreds of protestors hit the streets of Valletta during a PN demonstration.
The gathered crowd shouted insults like “thieves!” as Abela and members of his cabinet walked towards Castille.

The moment was reminiscent of the weeks prior to the Joseph Muscat administration’s collapse back in December, 2019, when protestors had also filled the streets of Valletta.
Today’s walk came shortly after Abela and PN MP Adrian Delia got caught up in a heated argument in Parliament after Abela said Delia had lied about the Vitals-Steward court sentence.
The heated argument led to a suspension of parliament, before PN MPs exited to applause, and Abela stepped out to face a rain of fake cheques.
